• Fallout with his disciple Anand Giri: In May 2021, Giri had a fallout with his disciple Anand Giri, the then ā€œChhote Mahantā€ of Bade Hanuman Temple. Mahant accused Anand Giri of preserving a relationship with his family even after taking sannyasa. Following this, Anand Giri was expelled from Baghambari Math and Niranjani Akhara. In return, Anand Giri also accused Narendra Giri of selling the properties of the Math and misappropriating cash.   • Mahant Narendra Giri – one of the most revered among the Indian saints and seers, died, allegedly by suicide, on 20 September 2021. The initial probe suggested that Giri’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan by a rope in his room at Baghambari Gaddi Math in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The mortal remains of the seer were carried in a procession in Sangam city before taking the body to the Hanuman temple.
