Controversy • Accused of watching porn clips inside the assembly house
On 14 December 2015, Naba Kishore Das was accused of watching porn clips during a session in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. He was caught by a television camera person while allegedly watching adult clips on his cellphone. On 15 December 2015, he was suspended from the Odisha Assembly for a week on account of degrading the dignity of the House. However, Naba Kishore denied the allegations of watching porn videos deliberately and claimed that while surfing the net, the adult content page unintentionally emerged on his mobile phone. He said,
I was browsing my phone when by mistake I touched YouTube app and this clip popped up. The video is on YouTube. The company has sent it and I did not choose it deliberately.”
In December 2018, due to the lack of adequate evidence to substantiate the allegations, Kishore was released on the charges of watching obscene video content inside the House during the assembly session.
