His parents never supported him in his dancing career initially and wanted Mukul to have a stable career. However, he was never interested in studies and used to run away from school to practice in the garden. check sources
Mukul started his dance career by participating in events like Kali Puja and Durga Puja and got inspired by his brother who was also a dancer. He started his dance journey when he was 7-8 years old.
He revealed that he had to go through at least eight auditions before getting selected for the final Dance India Dance TV Show.
He formed a trio with his friends, Nitesh Mandal and Mitesh Roy and they learned to dance together. He also has a dance academy in Sundar Nagar, Raipur, Chattisgarh called MNM Dance Atmosphere which the trio opened together.

Mukul practices only 2 hours a day every day.
He revealed that if he gets a chance he would like to choreograph Tiger Shroff .
His father had been going through medical treatment for cancer in Raipur and during this period the Indian comedian Bharti Singh helped Mukul and his family a lot. However, his father died in 2020.
