He was a footballer in his youth and represented Rising Star Club, Raikala, Keonjhar.

Initially, he worked as a teacher at RSS-affiliated Saraswati Sishu Mandir, Odisha.
He has served as the president of the Yubajyoti Club and Baba Dhabeleswar Mahadev Temple Committee, Raikala, Odisha.
In 2021, he survived country-made bombs thrown at his vehicle by two miscreants on a bike. He described the incident, in an interview, and said,
The incident happened at around 11am while I was returning home. The duo hurled two bombs. One of them also had a pistol in hand, but fled when my PSO gave chase.”
In 2022, he alleged a threat to the life of some MLAs from the mining mafia.
In September 2022, he sat in protest with the CMD and Editor-in-Chief of Sudarshan News, Suresh Chavhanke , after Suresh was denied permission to meet Dara Singh, a murder convict of Graham Staines and his children. Suresh had earlier demanded the release of Dara Singh.
