Some Lesser Known Facts About Mikayla Raines
Mikayla Raines discovered her love for foxes at the age of 15 when she met her first fox while volunteering for a wildlife rehabber.
In 2015, she was offered a captive-born red fox to bottle-raise and keep. It was her very first red fox and she named her Farrah Foxett.
In 2016, Mikayla began rescuing foxes after she saved three fox pups from a fur farm; they had been rejected by their mother.
In 2016, she founded SaveAFox Rescue, a Minnesota-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating foxes and other exotic animals, primarily from fur farms, pet surrenders, and hoarding situations.

 In college, she studied veterinary technology, but she left college to save foxes instead.
She took various college courses and additional wildlife rehabilitation classes to gain knowledge in animal care.
She had rescued around 500 foxes from a terrible fur farm.
She was a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Her YouTube channel has millions of subscribers, where she shared various vlogs showing the lives of rescued foxes.
In 2025, her husband revealed that Mikayla died by suicide. He mentioned that she had been living with severe mental health issues, including depression, autism, and borderline personality disorder. She had been struggling with the demands of her daily life.
