Some Lesser Known Facts About Michael Bracewell
Michael Bracewell is a New Zealand cricketer who scored the third-fastest century for New Zealand in ODI cricket while batting in the first match of the series against India in 2023. In 2023, he was chosen by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the IPL series as a replacement for Will Jacks who missed the IPL because of his injury.
When he was 10 years old, he used to go to Carisbrook stadium, New Zealand to watch Black Caps play against England.
He made his debut for the Otago Cricket team in 2011 and moved to Wellington in 2017.

On 20 July 2022, in the second match against Ireland in the T20I series, he took his first hat-trick in T20I cricket in the first over.
In January 2023, he scored the third-fastest century for New Zealand in an ODI match against India. He reached MS Dhoni ās record of being the only batter to score more than one century while batting at number seven or below.
In 2023, he replaced England batter Will Jacks in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) and was bought for Rs. 1 Crore.
On 11 July 2022, he hit 127 runs in the ODI match between Ireland and New Zealand. He hit 24 runs off 5 balls as the last batsman of the team and made the team win the match.
In December 2022, he was capped by the Kiwis in all three forms of the game.
In an interview, he said that he takes to a lot of people about his game but he values his fatherās opinions the most. His father gives him advice since he was 2 years old.
In 2023, in the ODI match against India, the Indian team scored 350 runs in the first innings. In the second innings, New Zealand was facing a critical situation as its score was 131/6. Bracewell came in to bat on number 7 and scored 140 runs. His team could not win the match, but his performance in the match was highly appreciated by everyone. In an interview, he talked about his performance and said,
T20 has been a huge influence on one day cricket and that is what makes one day cricket so exciting. You can be in a position like we were in and you can still work your way up to a position of power. I donāt think we got ourselves to a position of power but we got ourselves in a position where we could have won the game.ā
On 31 March 2023, Bracewell played in the instar-squad practice match ahead of their first match in the IPL series where he scored 105 off 55 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes.
In 2023, in a match against Sri Lanka, while Bracewell was bowling from over the wicket, the ball changed directions because the weather turned windy. The wind led to the bowl landing on the edge of the pitch which surprised the players and the commentators.
On 27 February 2023, in a test match between New Zealand and England, Bracewellās performance was criticised by many people because he did not slide the bat into the crease after the baller Stokesā throw arrived at England wicketkeeper Ben Foakes. His bat and feet were in the air which led to his wicket. Many people criticized him by saying that this is the first thing taught to any cricketer and that Bracewell was playing very casually.
Bracewell has played 17 ODIās and 13 T20 internationals. His batting average in ODIās is 46.2 and in T20 Internationals itās 30.
