Some Lesser Known Facts About Maya Tata
Maya’s father, Noel Tata , is the half-brother of Ratan Tata , whereas her mother, Aloo Mistry, is the sister of the late Cyrus Mistry , who served as the former chairman of the Tata Group.
Maya’s grandfather, Naval Tata , was adopted by Navajbai Tata after her husband Ratanji Tata passed away, as the couple had no children.
Maya, along with her siblings Leah and Neville, has been appointed as a board member of the Tata Medical Centre Trust. They were mentored by Ratan Tata.
Maya initially joined the Tata Opportunities Fund, a crucial Tata Capital affiliate. She developed her investor relations and portfolio management abilities at the fund, where she also gained a grasp of the complex workings of the corporate world.
Maya’s career took a sharp turn when the Tata Opportunities Fund closed abruptly. This sudden closure led her to join one of the other subsidiaries of the Tata Group, Tata Digital, where she focused on utilizing the potential of the digital realm.
Maya’s addition to the Tata Digital team aligned with the launch of the Tata Neu App, under the leadership of N. Chandrasekaran . She played a huge role in the development of the Tata Neu App.
