In childhood, he used to participate in various extracurricular activities.
While he was studying in school, he participated in various sports.
When he was 17 years old, he appeared in the English soap opera Shortland Street in which he played the role of Stuart Neilson. He appeared in the opera from 1992 to 1995. During that time, he lived in Australia and appeared in various Australian acting projects.
After completing high school, he quit his studies to pursue a career in acting.
In 1997, he moved to the USA to make his career in Hollywood.
In 1990 and 1991, he won various rugby championships. He was a flanker in the team.
On a student visa, he did a two-year program at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. He used to do night shifts at a restaurant to pay the fees of his course. During the course, he performed in the off-Broadway play Ophelia Thinks Harder as Hamlet. However, he left the course in between and shifted to Los Angeles.
While he was struggling to get some good acting projects, the Australian actor Heath Ledger helped him financially.
He then worked as a voice-over artist in a TV commercial of Fanta.
He has worked in various English films like The Ring (2002), Bride and Prejudice (2004), Battle in Seattle (2007), Miracles from Heaven (2016), and X (2022).
