Manjit Singh Gill is a Malaysian musician, lawyer, and sports administrator. He is one of the members of the popular Malaysian-Indian music duo ‘Goldkartz.’ In 2023, the duo released the song ‘Sab Gazab’ for which they collaborated with the popular Indian rapper Badshah . The song also featured the Bollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz .
He, and his younger brother, Sukhjit Singh Gill, formed a music duo ‘Goldkartz’ in 2005. They brought out a new form of Punjabi bhangra music by making a fusion of traditional Punjabi music with Malaysian cadences. Their songs are mainly based on themes of romance and having fun.
The sibling duo ‘Goldkartz’ earned the title ‘Malaysia’s Bhangra Ambassadors’ from their fans.
In 2008, the sibling duo made their singing debut with the album ‘Loaded’ which they released in Malaysia under the multinational recording label EMI. The album proved to be a hit for the singers with the sale of more than 5,000 CDs in the country.
Manjit Singh Gill was called to the Bar in front of Justice Zainal Adzam in 2009 after which he started working as an advocate and solicitor with a legal firm named ‘Darshan, Syed, Amarjit & Partners.’
He was appointed as the Deputy President of the Malaysia National Sikh Movement ‘GerakSikh’ in 2009.
The Malaysian Extreme Sports Association (MESA) appointed him as the Secretary General of the association in 2010.
In 2011, the duo “Goldkartz’ made their debut at the international level with their second album ’24 Karaatz.’ The album was released in many countries including Malaysia, Britain, and India, under the multinational record label Warner Music.
In Malaysia, their album ’24 Karaatz’ (2011) was launched by Rosmah Mansor, the second wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak. In an interview, she appreciated the efforts made by the brothers to promote Punjabi bhangra music at the international level through their songs. She said,

Goldkartz’s effort truly manifested the spirit of Malaysia Boleh (Malaysia can), where everyone can succeed provided they work hard and are committed to achieving success.”

In June 2013, Gill was appointed as the Secretary General of the Asian Extreme Sports Federation (AXF) and became the first Malaysian and youngest to be elected as the Secretary General of the sports federation.
Apart from this, he has also worked as the Managing Director at ‘Karokam Sdn Bhd,’ a security services provider firm, and as an Associate Member at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of the United Kingdom.
In 2015, the duo released the video song ‘Desi Patola’ on various Indian and foreign music channels such as PTC, Tashaan, BritAsia, Jus Punjabi, and Zee TV. The song was filmed at various famous landmarks of Malaysia to promote tourism in the country through the song. In an interview, while talking about this, Manjit Singh Gill said,

This is the first time we are having a music video fully filmed in Malaysia. Most of our past music videos were filmed in London, Paris and India. We have decided it is time to feature our home country prominently and promote its landmarks for tourism.”

In 2014, the duo ‘Goldkartz’ became the first Southeast Asian group to perform at the Russian-Asian Modern Culture Festival, held in Moscow.
The sibling duo has worked with various popular British musicians including Rishi Rich, Mumzy Stranger, Tigerstyle, and Punjabi by Nature (PBN) and various Indian musicians including Shankar Mahadevan , Sonu Nigam , and Badshah .
In 2023, the duo collaborated with the Indian rapper Badshah for the song ‘Sab Gazab,’ featuring Bollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz .
