She was born and brought up in a middle-class Bengali family in Kolkata.

In childhood, she was inclined towards singing and acting. She used to participate in various singing and acting competitions in her school.
As a kid, she sometimes used to wear a saree and recite dialogues in front of the mirror.
In 2010, while she was going with her mother to enrol her younger brother Anindya Bhattacharjee in school, she met a television producer there. The producer offered her a role in a television series, but her mother declined the offer. However, after various requests by the producer, her mother agreed to it.
She worked as a child actor in various Bengali films and TV serials.
She has worked in various Bengali TV serials like Agnipariksha, Mohan Bagan, and Saubhagyawati Bhava Mere Bangla.
Mani has acted in various Bhojpuri films like ‘Saugandh’ and ‘Wanted.’ One of her songs ‘Palangiya Sone Na Diya’ became very popular.
Reportedly, she refused to do South Indian films to continue working in Bhojpuri films.
Four of her Bengali films have been awarded National Awards.
Mani Bhattacharya is a big fan of the Indian actor Prabhas .
She is very fond of animals and owns a pet dog.

Apart from Bengali and Bhojpuri films, Mani Bhattacharya has also worked in various TV serials.
In 2018, she acted in the Bhojpuri film ‘Ghoongat Mein Ghotala.’
During the shoot of the Bhojpuri film ‘Mera Bharat Mahaan,’ she was injured during stone pelting in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. She had serious head injuries due to it. She then took to her social media to criticise the UP government for not providing safety to the artists. She also said that she would never come again to Jaunpur for shooting.
