Some Lesser Known Facts About Manav Kaul
Manav used to live in Kashmir with his family, but during the riots in the 90s, they shifted to his maternal grandparents’ house in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh.

In childhood, he was a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan . He used to practice Amitabh’s style.

In his village, he was famous as a break dancer, and at most of the events in his village, he used to perform on stage.

In Madhya Pradesh, due to his family’s poor financial conditions, he was finding it difficult to continue his studies and his parents expected him to open a tea stall or a paan shop.
In his teens, Manav, along with his childhood friends, used to dive in the Narmada River in search of money thrown by the devotees. There, a swimming coach spotted him and praised his swimming skills.
The coach then decided to train him in swimming. Later, Manav got selected for the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Bhopal and trained there for around two years. He then played in various state and national badminton tournaments and won more than 14 medals in swimming.

While growing up, he developed an interest in acting. Later, he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his career as an actor.
He had got a photo clicked by a person in his village which he used to take to his auditions for various acting projects.

In Mumbai, he used to live in a chawl in Mumbai.
Initially, he worked as a junior artist in various Hindi films and TV serials.
He has also appeared in a few episodes of the Hindi TV series C.I.D.
In 2004, he started a theatre group named ‘Aranya.’ He has performed in various Hindi and English theatre plays.

He has worked in the Bhopal Theatre Group for a few years.
He is also known for directing and writing various theatre plays such as Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane, Peele Scooterwala Aadmi, Bali Aur Shambhu, Ilhaam, and Aisa Kehte Hain.

He once shared that people like Charles Bukowski (American poet), Vinod Kumar Shukla (Indian writer), and Nirmal Verma (Indian writer, and novelist) had a great influence on him.
