On 21 June 2024, she participated in the celebration of International Yoga Day organised by the Mayurbhanj District Administration and encouraged people to practice yoga regularly to improve their health.
She resigned from her post as a Rajya Sabha MP and as a BJD worker on 31 July 2024, almost 2 years before the end of her term in April 2026.
In her resignation letter to the BJD leader Naveen Patnaik , she wrote that she was thankful for the opportunities but felt that the party no longer needed her and her community’s services.
