Some Lesser Known Facts About Malvinder Singh Kang
He served as the National Executive Member of the BJP Yuva Morcha. He was also in charge of the Haryana Yuva Morcha.
Malvinder also served as the spokesperson for the BJP and was a member of the party’s core group in the Punjab unit.
After serving many senior positions in the Bharatiya Janta Party, Malvinder left BJP because of his difference of opinion with the party during the farmers’ protest.
Malvinder was introduced into the Aam Aadmi Party by Jarnail Singh (AAP’s Punjab affairs in-charge), Harpal Singh Cheema (Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly), Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer (MLA and Youth Wing state president), and Harchand Singh Barsat (AAP’s State General Secretary).

His most notable contribution as a politician was his efforts to advocate farmers’ rights and agrarian reforms. He has also made efforts to improve the education sector through better infrastructure.
In 2021, he protested against rising unemployment in Punjab by raising his voice against then Chief Minister of Punjab, Channi, who gave jobs to the sons and relatives of Ministers.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Malvinder Singh Kang defeated his Congress rival Vijay Inder Singla by a margin of 10,846 votes for the seat of Member of Parliament.
Malvinder Sing Kang is an avid basketball player. He has often raised his concern about building sports infrastructure to support the Punjab’s talent in volleyball and football.
