Malavika Avinash was born into a Tamil family.
At the age of just 5, she started learning dance and received her training in Bharatanatyam from âKrishnamurthyâ and then from âLeela Samson.â
She has also received her training to play the Sitar from âPandit Partho Das.â
At the age of 9, Malavika Avinash started acting as a child artist in Malayalam films.
She was very good at studies, and she was ranked third in the âBachelor of Lawsâ degree at Bangalore University, Bengaluru.
The film director & actor, G. V. Iyer, watched her dance performance as âKrishna,â after which, he signed her as âKrishnaâ in his Kannada film âKrishnaavataarâ (1988).
Malavika has worked in various languages like Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil.
In 1999, she campaigned for the BJP candidate âSushma Swaraj â in Bellary, Karnataka.
In September 2013, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and for almost five months, she travelled across 21 constituencies to campaign for BJP in Karnataka.

In February 2014, Malavika was appointed as the co-spokesperson of BJP.
She also campaigned for the 2014 general elections, local body, by-elections, and MLC elections, which includes the Nanjangud and Gundlupet by-elections.
She worked with an âNGO Madhyam Foundationâ for approximately three years.
Malavika Avinash has done campaigning for the BJP in various states of India like Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
She has hosted several TV shows like âAgni,â âBaduku Jataka Bandi,â âTakadhimithaa,â âAradirali Belaku,â etc.
In 2013 & 2014, she judged a few episodes of the famous Kannada TV show âMahaparvaâ that was aired on ETV Kannada.
In 2016, Malavika participated in the controversial reality TV show âBigg Boss Kannada Season 4â and was one of the top 5 finalists.

She, along with her sister, Ranjani Ganesan Ramesh, has performed as a dancer at cultural festivals, events, and centres like Uttara Chidambaram, Pattadakkal festival, Hampi festival, Khujrajo festival, Chidambaram Natyanjali, etc.
They organised a dance festival âArudhraâ every year at Bangalore.
