Mainabai Savarkar was an Indian freedom fighter. She was the sister of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, an Indian revolutionary.
Mainabai Savarkar’s brother, Veer Savarkar, created the political idea called ‘Hindutva’ while he was in Ratnagiri Jail in Maharashtra in 1922. He was an important leader of the Hindu Mahasabha, a political party.
Mainabai Savarkar died in 1947 in Bombay State (now Maharashtra), India, when she was 61 years old, because of an age-related illness.
