Some Lesser Known Facts About Mahesh Narayanan
After graduating from University College Thiruvananthapuram, Mahesh Narayanan joined the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute in Tamil Nadu and started his career as an advertisement editor.
He then started editing documentaries and short films.
In 2007, Mahesh Narayanan entered the Malayalam film industry with a Malayalam film titled Rathri Mazha, which won five Kerala State Film Awards.

He then went on to work as an editor for several films like Beautiful (2011), Traffic (2011), Kanyaka Talkies (2013), Viswaroopam (2013), and Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015).
After becoming a successful editor, he began working as a scriptwriter.
He made his debut as a scriptwriter with the 2015 Malayalam film Mili, which received positive reviews in Kerala.

In 2017, Mahesh Narayanan made his directorial debut with the film Take Off. The film was a drama-thriller which was based on the 2014 trial of Indian nurses in Tikrit, Iraq.
The film starred Parvathy Thiruvothu , Kunchacko Boban , and Fahadh Faasil .
It was written by Mahesh Narayanan and P. V. Shajikumar.
The filming of the film took place in Dubai and Kerala. Take Off was a box office hit, and was shown for over 125 days in theatres.
The film was featured in competition sections at international festivals like IFFI and IFFK.

In June 2020, Mahesh Narayanan released his film project C U Soon. The film starred Fahadh Faasil in the lead role.
Mahesh described the film as a āsmall exercise,ā which was shot using an iPhone. He also mentioned it as a non-traditional feature film. The filming of the film took place in Fahadh Faasilās flat.
He received the approval to shoot the film from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).
Later, he faced opposition from the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) due to COVID-19 concerns.
The film was recognized as Indiaās first computer screen film. It was screened in the āscreen-lifeā category at the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival.

He then went on to direct and write many films such as MÄlik (2021), Ariyippu (2022), and Manorathangal (2024).
