Some Lesser Known Facts About Mahesh Mangaonkar
He won the British Junior Open squash championship in the Under-15 category in 2009.
He was admitted as a professional athlete into the Professional Squash Association (PSA) in January 2012.
He made his PSA World Tour debut at the age of eighteen. He won his first PSA World Tour title at the Prague Open in the Czech Republic.

He competed in the 2013 PSA World Tour Challenger 5 tournament in Bratislava, Slovakia, and won the semi-final match against Czech Republic’s Jan Koukal, the two-time champion of the PSA World Tour.
In the final match, he defeated Scotland’s Greg Lobban and became the first Indian to win the IMET Open.
He competed for the Indian men’s national squash team in 2014, along with Saurav Ghosal , Kush Kumar, and Harinder Pal Sandhu .
At the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, the Indian team defeated Malaysia in the finals and won the gold medal.

He defeated Abhishek Pradhan in the 76th Senior National Squash Championship held in Pune in June 2019.
He started working as a Level 1 trainer at Crossfit, Finland in September 2020.
He began working as a part-time coach for the men’s national team at the Finnish Squash Association in June 2022.
He is a professional sparring player associated with many European national federations.
After residing in Finland for more than three years, he qualified to compete in the Finnish National Championship in 2022, where he won the title.
During the 2022 PSA World Tour, he made it to the top 16 of a platinum event by giving one of his career’s best performances in the first match of the World Tour.
He played for the Indian men’s national squash team at the 2022 Asian Games, along with Abhay Singh , Saurav Ghosal , and Harinder Pal Sandhu .

He is the Norges Squashforbund’s Head of Sports in Oslo, Norway.
According to him, one of his biggest supporters has been his mother.
At the age of 19, he relocated to Europe from Mumbai.
The main goal of Mahesh Mangaonkar is to compete in the Olympics and win a medal. The International Olympic Committee formally recommended squash’s inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games in October 2023.
In 2018, he got injured, and the pain worsened after the 2019 Tournament of Champions in New York following which he went for treatment in February 2020.
He mainly uses racquets from Prince Sports.
According to him, one of the most dangerous things he has ever done is climb a 6150 m high peak in Leh.
