Some Lesser Known Facts About Mahender Singh
Mahender Singh is an Indian Kabaddi player who got into the limelight for his performance as a left-cover defender in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Mahender started his Pro Kabaddi League journey in 2017 when he was selected by the Bangalore-based Kabaddi team named ‘Bengaluru Bulls’ to play in season 5 of the tournament. After seeing his powerful performance, the ‘Bengaluru Bulls’ retained him for upcoming seasons including seasons 6,7,8, and 9. Mahender was also appointed as the captain of the team in season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League, which was held in Mumbai in 2022.

He was also amongst the squad of the Services Sports Control Board Kabaddi team which participated in the Kabaddi Federation Cup in 2018 and ended up winning the title.
Mahender has represented his home state Himachal Pradesh at various state-level Kabaddi championships, and he has also represented his hometown ‘Mandi’ at different district-level tournaments.
In 2021, Mahender took part in the 47th Inter Services Kabaddi Championship, which took place at the Delhi Airforce Station. He was part of the Services Sports Control Board Kabaddi team and won the gold medal in the championship finals.

In 2022, he took part in the 36th National Games representing the Services Sports Control Board and scored the bronze medal in the tournament.

In 2023, Mahender participated in the 37th National Games, which were held in Goa. He represented his Services Sports Control Board team of Himachal Pradesh) and won the gold medal in the tournament.

In the same year, he was selected to be a left-cover defender in season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League and represent the Mumbai-based team ‘U Mumba.’

He was bought at the price of 40.25 lakh rupees and had a tackle success rate of 41% in the entire league.
