Some Lesser Known Facts About Mahant Balaknath Yogi
He is the eighth successor of the Nath sect of Hinduism.
Mahant Balaknath’s father was a follower of the Mahant Khetanath and served him at the Baba Khetanath Ashram of Neemrana.
Before Mahant Balaknath’s birth, his father promised Mahant Khetanath that his son would serve him all his life. After Mahant Balaknath’s birth, he was named Gurmukh by Mahanat Khetanath.
At the age of six, Mahant Balaknath took sanyas and was handed over to Mahant Khetanath Ashram of Neemrana by his family, where he spent the next six months.
Later, Mahant Khetanath sent Mahant Balaknath to Alwar MP Mahant Chand Nath Yogi at Asthal Bohar Rohtak, where he was named Balaknath because of his childish playfulness. check sources Patrika
At Asthal Bohar Rohtak, Mahant Balaknath did hard penance and sadhana, served the monastery and learned the traditions of the Nath sect, worked as per the orders of the Guru, and fulfilled the responsibility of serving in various ashrams across the country.
In the presence of Baba Ramdev , UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , Brahman Mahant Chand Nath Yogi, and numerous other well-known saints from all over the nation, Baba Balaknath was declared the eighth heir to Asthal Bohar during a religious ceremonyon 29 July 2016.

After suffering from a long illness, Mahant Chandnath passed away in 2017. On 17 September 2017, Mahant Balaknath Yogi succeeded him as the eighth head of Asthal Bohar, the greatest monastery in the Nath sect. He was also appointed as the chancellor of the Baba Mastnath University.

In 2019, Mahant Balaknath began his political career when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He contested the Lok Sabha elections in the same year and became a member of parliament from Alwar, Rajasthan. In 2023, he was elected as an MLA from the Tijri constituency in Rajasthan.
