He was named after a local priest.
Since his childhood, Liam Nesson was very passionate towards boxing, and he became a famous boxing champion in his province. He had played his last fight at the age of 17 before becoming a professional actor.Â
While in school, he was offered a role in the school play, which he happily accepted; the reason was that a girl was also involved in the play for whom Neeson had feelings. He continued to act in school productions over the following years.
Nesson’s decision to join Hollywood was greatly influenced by the local minister, Ian Paisley by seeing him making Political and Religious speeches.Â
Holocaust docudrama “Schindler’s List” (1993) was the turning point in his career. Though Kevin Costner and Mel Gibson expressed interest in portraying the role of Schindler, Steven Spielberg wanted to cast an actor who was relatively unknown to him and so, had rejected other actors whose star quality could overpower the character needed for the film.
 While performing in a revival of the play Anna Christie on Broadway in 1993, he met his future wife, actress Natasha Richardson and married her on July 3, 1994. They had two sons.Â
His famous film, Love Actually, seemed to forbode future events in Liam’s personal life; as his wife died in a fatal skiing accident in the year 2009.
Just a few weeks before their wedding, Liam Nesson and his fiance Natasha, had purchased a house in Millbrook, however, they never knew that the same house was going to be the place where Natasha would breathe her last.Â
Before becoming an actor he had worked as a fork-lift operator at Guinness and as a truck driver too.
Nesson has guest starred in the third season of the Miami Vice.Â
