| Controversies | • Mexican Judge ordered Laura Bozzo prison time in a tax crime case In 2021, Laura Bozzo was accused of disposing a property which was already seized by Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT), the tax department of Mexico. The judge ordered a preventive detention for Laura Bozzo at the Santiaguito prison in Almoloya de Juárez. According to her, the whole issue was caused by the mismanagement of her accountants. Some Lesser Known Facts About Laura Bozzo
Laura Bozzo’s parents belonged to Italian, Spanish, and Quechua lineage.
After completing her studies in law and politics, she worked as a teacher in several universities.
In 1987, she became the officer-in-charge of Instituto Nacional de Cultura del Perú (INC), a government organisation that promotes and preserves Peru’s cultural heritage.
In 1992, she became an alderman (regidor in Spanish) or a member of Lima’s municipal legislative body.
She hosted several talk shows, including the reality show Intimidades (1997) on Panamericana Televisión, Laura en América (1998-2001), Laura en acción (2007-2008), and Laura (2023).
In 1998, she launched a charitable organisation, Solidaridad de Familia, to help people with legal, medical, and mental health issues.
In 2008, some journalists, including Jaime Bayly, allegedly accused her shows of being staged. Laura Bozzo reportedly filed a defamation case against Bayly for slander and spreading false news against her show.
She was the singer and lyricist for several songs, including Que Pase El Desgraciado (2011), El Matrato (2011), and Que Se Vaya La Desgraciada (2011).
