It was said that they married each other secretly. She is a trained Kuchipudi dancer; she started learning Kuchipudi as a kid and performed at various events in her schools and college.

In 2011, Malayalam director Vinayan noticed Lakshmi Menon during her dance performance telecasted on television and signed her for the Malayalam film Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya.
In an interview, Lakshmi shared her experience of signing the first film of her career at a young age and said,
I felt I was too young to decide on anything. My mom asked me to give it a shot. I was only in my eighth grade, and I wasn’t really thinking about what I was doing. They shot close to my home and so I wasn’t nervous at all. I played the hero’s sister.”
