Kushal was born to a Karachi father and Hyderabadi mother in Mumbai.

He was very much into sports since his childhood. He always took part in cycling, skating, dancing, football, athletics & swimming events for his school & college.
After completing his graduation, Kushal had done a course in bartending and had served as a bartender for a while.
Thereafter, he worked as a purser in Jet Airways.
Prior to acting and modelling, Kushal had also worked as a life insurance agent and financial consultant in Dubai.
He has been a professional Modern Jazz and Hip-Hop dancer.
He choreographed the Gladrags Manhunt Megamodel, Mrs. India contests and various fashion shows and music videos.  He also directed and choreographed the âStar Walkâ fashion event for UMEED (an NGO for children).
In 2011, he won the TV reality game show, Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, the Indian version of US game show Wipeout and took home the prize money of 5 million.
He has featured in various blockbuster movies such as Farhan Akhtar âs Lakshya and Karan Johar âs â Kaal, UTVâs Goal, and Cinevistaâs Ssshhhhh.
In 1997, he also appeared in the music album of Shweta Shettyâs pop song- Deewane To Deewane Hai.
He was also a part of the reality shows like Mr. & Ms. TV (2007), Fear Factor, Fun on the Run and Ek Se Badhkar Ek (2008).
In 2014, he participated in the celebrity dance reality show- Jhalak Dikhlaja.

In addition to acting and dancing, he was also an adventure sports teacher. He used to teach various water sports to people including Scuba Diving and Water Boarding.
He loved travelling and doing adventure sports.

He was a fitness enthusiast and used to visit the gym every day.
