He was even asked to vacate his apartment in Mumbai. check sources jagran.com ⢠In January 2020, Kunal was banned by various Indian airlines, including Air India, SpiceJet, and GoAir, for heckling a TV channel editor, Arnab Goswami , on one of its flights. Mr Kamra was banned by these airlines after he posted a video of his encounter with Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV. In the video, Kamra is seen throwing questions at Mr Goswami, who doesn't respond. check sources NDTV ⢠In October 2024, a verbal spat between him and the CEO of Ola, Bhavish broke out over the after sales services of the Ola e-scooters. It started after Kamra posted a picture of dust-covered Ola e-bikes which were unable to get serviced at the Ola service station, raising questions at Ola's capabilities.  To this, Bhavish re-tweeted asking Kamra to work for him at the Ola Service Station. He also told Kamra that he had failed as a comedian, and therefore, was trying to get fame by targeting Ola.  Kamra then gave a deadline to Bhavish on getting the e-scooters repaired and duely serviced. ⢠He attracted controversy in March 2025 when an FIR was filed against him by a Shiv Sena MLA after Kamra, during a show, made a joke on Eknath Shinde and called him a "gaddaar" (traitor). After the FIR, Shiv Sena workers wrecked the venue where Kamra's standup comedy event was to take place. The Shiv Sena MLA, in an interview, said, "If he is seen anywhere in public, we will paint his face black... We will take up this issue in the assembly and request our state's home minister to order action against him." Many politicians, however, came in his support and criticised the wrecking of the venue calling it an act of "cowardice." Thereafter, the Mumbai Police summoned Kamra for questioning to which Kamra requested for a week's time, which the police denied. |

Kunal Kamra was born and brought up in Mumbai.
Kamra left his college when he was pursuing the second year of his degree and joined MTV as an intern. However, he told his parents about quitting his college after 3 years when he was earning a salary of 35000 INR.
After working as an intern with MTV for around 1 year, he joined Prasoon Pandeyâs Corcoise Films as a production assistant. His job duties involved international shoots, producing commercials for popular brands, and conducting high-powered meetings with representatives of big media organizations.
It was his friend, Siddharth Dudeja, who introduced stand-up comedy to Kamra and suggested him to try it.
In 2013, when Kunal went to the Blue Frog event to catch up with his friend, Karunesh Talwar, who was working as the headliner of the event, Kunal was asked to perform a gig at the stage in order to save the main act which was sinking.
In the same year, Kunal did his first professional stand up comedy show at the Canvas Club in Mumbai.
In 2017, Kamra launched a YouTube podcast âShut Up Ya Kunal along with his friend Ramit Verma. The show features public guests like Madhukeshwar Desai, the spokesperson of BJP, Jignesh Mevani, Gujaratâs MLA and Dalit activist, and Shehla Rashid, the former JNU student leader.
His punch line âSiachen mein humaare jawaan lad rahe hainâ is very popular on social media.
Kunal has received immense popularity for his show âPatriotism and the Governmentâ which mocks the governmentâs need to use nationalism as an answer to every criticism.
Kamra collaborated with the YouTube channel âEast India Comedyâ (EIC) and launched a show titled âKaun Banega Trollpatiâ which aimed at taking a dig at the right-wing social media trolls. The video was based on the popular game show âKaun Banega Crorepatiâ and featured him as a âBhakt Laundaâ on the hot seat, opposite the show host The Real Amitji.
Kunal was residing at the Shivaji Park area of Mumbai but in 2019 his landlady asked him to look for another place as she was not happy with his political involvement in his work. He shared his WhatsApp conversation with his landlady through his Facebook handle.

In January 2019, Kunal was heavily trolled on Twitter and even his phone number was being shared on the social platform which led him to deactivate his Twitter account for a month.
He claims to have received death threats for his edgy political humour.
Kamra thinks that politics is amusing. He says-
I am interested in politics because it is amusing. Politics and pop culture are blending right now (in India). Everything is political. In comedy, your premise has to be relatable and your punchline has to be hilarious. Politics fits that bill perfectly.â
