Kofi Kingston began his career at the independent circuit. However, unlike other WWE stars who have to struggle a lot to make it to the WWE, Kofi was hired by the company within a few months after his debut.
In his first main roster match, Kofi Kingston defeated Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship, thereby becoming the first ever ‘Ghanaian wrestler’ to hold a championship in the WWE.
Kofi Kingston is an expert in Brazilian martial art of ‘Capoeira’. Notably, ‘Capoeira’ requires a lot of agility in order to take out opponents with various spin kicks while distracting them with flips.
For around 7 years, Kofi was ‘advertised’ as a Jamaican. However, when Ghana, progressed in the FIFA World Cup in 2014, WWE wasted no time in flaunting his Ghanaian ancestry.
