Kiran Karmarkar is an Indian actor, who predominantly works in the Hindi film and television industries. He has also worked in several Marathi films. He is best known for playing the role Om Agarwal in the Hindi television series âKahaani Ghar Ghar Kiiâ (2000-2008), which aired on StarPlus.
He began his acting career at a Marathi theatre group named âDinmaanâ in 1989.
After making his debut in the Marathi film industry with the film âNishpaapâ (1992), he appeared in the film âYadnyaâ in 1994.
After making his television debut with the horror television drama series âMano Ya Na Manoâ (1995), he appeared in the TV series âItihaasâ (1996) in which he played the role of Mantri. The TV series was aired on the channel DD National.

Several web shows had come to me but it didnât work out. I didnât like the content of some shows. Also, in some of them, I found the sexual content and abusive words that were used very unnecessary.â
Karmarkar is considered to be one of the most choosy actors when it comes to selecting projects. He revealed in an interview that he has rejected nearly 50 roles within two year. He said,
I must have said ânoâ to 50 roles in the last two years simply because I was being offered characters which did not have a story of their own.â
