Some Lesser Known Facts About Kimberly Schlapman
Kimberly Schlapman was raised by her parents in a middle-class household.

Soon after her birth, Kimberly moved to Cornelia and was brought up there.
She began playing piano at the age of 8, and by the age of 11, she took over the job at church when the regular pianist left.
Kimberly Schlapman always wanted to become a singer. She started singing in church with her father and sister and started entering talent contests when she was just 12 years old.
As much as she had wanted to become a singer since childhood, Kimberly was also equally inclined to cook.
She dropped out of kindergarten because she was afraid of the fire drill.
It was in the university that Kimberly met the American singer Karen Fairchild and they both started singing together.
In late 1995, Kimberly moved to Nashville to pursue a professional career in music.
In 1998, Kimberly Schlapman along with Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook founded an American country music vocal group from Homewood, Alabama named âLittle Big Town.â The band has won many awards and sold more than 1.5 million records.

On 6 April 2005, Kimberly Schlapmanâs first husband Steven Roads suffered from a heart attack and passed away at the age of 41.
Kimberlyâs long-time friend Stephen Schlapman helped her get through the grief of her husband. Meanwhile, they both fell in love and got married the next year.
Kimberly states in one of her interviews that she struggled to conceive a baby in both of her marriages. She was quoted saying in an interview that
In my previous marriage, I had tried so hard to have a baby. When Stephan and I got pregnant on our honeymoon, it was just the most incredible gift. I believe that my first husband, who was in heaven, I believe he begged God, âLetâs give her what sheâs always wanted for a wedding gift. I know that was his wedding gift from heaven to me.â
She and her second husband tried so hard to have a second baby but all their efforts failed. Their fertility treatments also failed. They underwent artificial insemination treatment and that did not work and then they did two full rounds of in vitro fertilization and those both ended in a loss.
After their failed attempts, Kimberly and Stephen decided to go for adoption and thatâs how they got their second daughter Dolly Grace.
She has been cast in the music videos of many Little Big Town songs and some of them are âDonât Waste My Timeâ (2002), âWhen Someone Stops Loving Youâ (2017), âSummer Feverâ (2018), âOverdrinkingâ (2019) and âWine, Beer, Whiskeyâ (2020).

Kimberly Schlapman considers the American singers Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton her biggest inspirations in music.
In 2012, Kimberly started her TV cooking show titled âKimberlyâs Simply Southernâ which was telecast on the Great American Country Television channel.
