On 6 June 2025, he came into the limelight when his funeral was held at Maru Park Funeral Home in Hanam. On the same day, his family released a statement confirming the news. He was buried at Yanggu Memorial Park.
After his death, rumours spread online which linked him to a tragic incident in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do, where a man in his 20s attacked his girlfriend and later jumped off a rooftop.
Kim Jong-suk’s family denied the rumours and asked the public to stop spreading false stories.
