| Controversies | • In 2020, in an interview with a local TV show, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar opposed the validity of the Aurat March which was supposed to be held on Women’s Day (March 8). The host of the show recited the slogan of the march which was 'Mera jism meri marzi' (My Body, My Choice) to which Khalil-ur-Rehman replied to her saying “Apna jism dekho; koi mard thookay ga bhi nahin uss par.” (Your body, your choice? Look at your body. No man would even spit on it.)" He then called her a bitch and told her to “shut up”, repeatedly. Some Lesser Known Facts About Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar started writing when he was studying in school. He was just 7 years old when he wrote his first poetry after his cousin passed away. That moment triggered him to write a few lines.
He was 11 years old when he published his first writing.
Before professionally pursuing writing as a profession, Khalil-ur-Rehman used to work at the National Bank of Pakistan but retired after a few years to pursue his passion for writing full-time.
When he resigned from his job at the National Bank of Pakistan, he was the youngest vice president of the bank.
In 1995, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar wrote the screenplay of the Pakistani TV series titled ‘Dastak Aur Darwaza’ which was broadcast on the PTV Drama TV channel.
He was also one of the actors in the Pakistani TV series titled ‘Dastak Aur Darwaza.’
In 1997, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar wrote the screenplay of the Pakistani film titled ‘Qarz.’
Khalil has written screenplays for many Pakistani TV series and some of them include ‘Boota from Toba Tek Singh’ (1999), ‘Love, Life aur Lahore’ (2013), ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ (2015), and ‘Meray Paas Tum Ho’ (2019).
He has been cast as an actor in many Pakistani TV series including ‘Boota from Toba Tek Singh’ (1999), ‘Chandpur Ka Chandoo’ (2001), ‘Landa Bazar’ (2002), and ‘Dil Hai Ke Diya Hai’ (2005).
