Kat Von D is an American tattoo artist, singer, author, actor, entrepreneur, and model, who rose to fame through her appearances on popular reality TV shows such as Miami Ink and LA Ink. Her makeup brand, KVD Beauty, has garnered substantial popularity among consumers.
At the age of four, she relocated with her family to the Inland Empire in Southern California, USA. Subsequently, they settled in Colton, California.

At the age of six, she started taking Piano lessons after being inspired by her grandmother.
At the age of twelve, her exposure to punk music had a profound impact on her, leading to significant changes in her style. Inspired by the punk scene, she adopted a mohawk hairstyle and, at the age of fourteen, obtained her first tattoo.
After getting involved in a fight on the very first day of seventh grade, she decided to drop out of school.
When she was 15 years old, she spent six months at Provo Canyon School, a psychiatric youth treatment centre, an experience she later described as the most challenging period of her life.
At the age of fourteen, she began her initial foray into the world of tattoo artistry by creating tattoos on the bodies of her friends. Her journey as a professional tattoo artist commenced when she turned sixteen. At this age, she secured a position at Sin City Tattoo in Los Angeles, California, courtesy of Packer Dave, who offered her employment.

Later, at the age of twenty-three, she began working at True Tattoo located in Hollywood.
On 3 April 2007, she took a significant step in her career by establishing her very own tattoo shop named High Voltage Tattoo, situated in Hollywood, California.

After successfully operating High Voltage Tattoo for over 14 years, she decided to close her shop on 1 December 2021. This move came as she relocated to the state of Indiana in the United States of America.

In 2007, she made appearances in two seasons of the reality show āMiami Ink,ā which aired on the TLC channel. The show was filmed at 305 Ink, located in Miami, Florida.
Subsequently, she starred in the spinoff show called āLA Ink,ā which was filmed at her tattoo shop, High Voltage Tattoo, situated in Hollywood, California. The show premiered on 7 August 2007 and ran for four seasons before concluding on 15 September 2011.

In 2012, she lent her vocals to the female part of the song āRosary Blueā by the Finnish band The 69 Eyes. She also collaborated as a featured artist on Prayersā track āBlack Leatherā and contributed to three songs on IAMXās 2018 album titled āAlive In New Light.ā Furthermore, she released her album, āLove Made Me Do It,ā in 2021.

In 2020, she decided to sell her brand, KAT Von D Beauty, to Kendo Brands. Following the acquisition, the brand was renamed KVD Beauty.
