K. J. Yesudasâs first guru was his own father, who was a well-known Malayalam classical musician and stage actor.
Unfortunately, he could not pursue his music studies due to financial constraints.
He was invited to perform in several cities of the USSR by the Soviet Union government. He also sang a Russian song over Radio Kazakhstan.
K. J. Yesudas has lent his voice to many leading actors in Hindi cinema including Amitabh Bachchan , Amol Palekar , and Jeetendra .
He recorded the album âAhimsaâ in Sanskrit, Latin, and English and in a mix of styles including new-age and Carnatic. While performing at musical concerts in the Middle East, he sang Arabic songs in Carnatic style.
