She got separated from her first husband when Malaika Arora was 11 years old.

According to sources, after separating from Anil Mehta, she reunited with him once again and started living in the Ayesha Manor building in Bandra, Mumbai, a few years before his death.
As per her, Anil had a habit of reading the newspaper on the balcony. On 11 September 2024, she found that he had not read the newspaper and left his slippers on the balcony. After hearing the commotion below her building, she got to know that Anil Mehta had died by jumping off from the balcony.
Later, she reported to the Mumbai Police that Anil was fine mentally and physically before his death.
