Joseane Ribeiro became a mother when she was 16 years old.
She moved from Jequié to Salvador in Bahia, Brazil, with her young son, carrying a blanket, a thermos, and two aluminium cups.
The first few years in the city were tough for her, but during a media conversation, she shared her story with a smile and jokes to ease the hardships. Joseane Ribeiro said,
We only live once.”
She was unemployed for two years and survived by doing odd jobs.
Joseane Ribeiro also helped her ex-husband in his mechanic shop.
Later, she began working as a nurse technician.
