As a child, he used to spend holidays in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
In the late 1990s, he moved to Pembrokeshire with friends and practised Ratu Bagus, a form of meditation.
During his school days, he started participating in stage plays.
His first play was The Mikado in which he portrayed Katisha, a jealous older woman.
He then performed in the play Charley’s Aunt. After that, he began gaining recognition for his acting.

Once, his brother, Daniel, was directing the play The Crucible for the Sevenoaks Youth Theatre. Then, an actor left the show, and Jerome was asked to play the lead role, John Proctor.
He hesitated at first but later accepted the role.
When he was 17 years old, after performing in the play The Crucible, he decided to pursue acting as a career.
He enjoyed pretending to be different people on stage and acting boosted his confidence. The audience also enjoyed his work.
Jerome admitted that girls started paying more attention to him, and he thought that it was a good reason to pursue acting.
He dropped his English A Level as he was not interested in learning it anymore.
When he was 18 years old, he moved to London to study acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama in Swiss Cottage.
After that, he played the role of Alcibiades in the play Timon of Athens at the Young Vic Theatre. He considered it one of his best roles.
He then performed in the play Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf in Birmingham with Sylvia Syms, her daughter Beatie Edney, and James Bolan.
After that, he took a break of three months to explore new experiences and went to Thailand with friends.
He enjoyed learning about different cultures.
During his last year at the Central School of Speech and Drama, he sang with a group called Carte Blanche.
The group used to perform in clubs like Maxim’s de Paris. The group became a member of the British Actors’ Equity Association.

In 1986, Flynn played the role of firefighter Kenny ‘Rambo’ Baines in the television film London’s Burning.

After this, Flynn and Green sang ‘Unchained Melody’ on television, and many viewers wanted to buy the song. Simon Cowell, a song producer, convinced them to record it as a single.
The song was released with the song ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ under the name Robson and Jerome.
In 1995, the song reached No.1 on the UK chart and was listed there for seven weeks.
The song sold over 1.9 million copies and became the best-selling single of the year.
In 1996, they won the Music Week Awards for Best Single and Best Album.
