Some Lesser Known Facts About Jasmin Walia
Jasmin Walia was born to parents of Indian descent.
She was inclined towards music from a young age and began singing when she was 8 years old. While talking about her interest in music, she once said,
I used to sit there every Saturday night, performing āOver The Rainbowā to my dad, and I think that he picked up the fact that I loved singing and enrolled me into singing classes.ā
Jasmin was the first person in her family to take up singing as a career.
Later, she also developed an interest in acting and joined a theatre school when she was 10 years old.
After completing her A-levels, she applied for a philosophy course at the University of Cambridge. However, she was denied admission in it.
She then worked as a customer adviser at the Natwest Bank for a few years.
After making her debut with the British medical drama series Casualty, she appeared in the British police procedural television series The Bill. In the series, she played the role of Aisha Khatri.
In 2010, she was featured as a child artist in the popular TV series āDoctors,ā starring Denise, Sam Faiers, and James.
She came into the limelight after appearing in the British reality TV series The Only Way Is Essex (2017).
She has also participated in the reality TV shows The X Factor, Desi Rascals, and Dinner Date.

In 2014, she created a YouTube channel named Jasmin Walia, where she began uploading song covers alongside artists like Zack Knight, Intens-ti, and Ollie Green Music.
In the same year, she was named in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by Eastern Eye alongside Zayn Malik.
In 2016, her debut song Dum Dee Dum became an instant hit and reached over 1 million views in just 3 days. The song peaked at number 1 on BBC Asian Networkās Official Asian Music Chart. Jasmin was nominated for Mirchi Music Award for Upcoming Female Vocalist of The Year at the 11th Mirchi Music Awards for the song. The song was also nominated for Mirchi Music Award for Song of The Year.
A year later, she released the song Bom Diggy alongside Zack Knight , which became immensely popular among the audience.
Later, a remake of the song Bom Diggy Diggy was used in the Hindi film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018).
Some of her other songs include Girl Like Me (2016), Go Down (2017), Temple (2017), Sahara (2018), Want Some (2020), and Nights N Fights (2022).
