Gurinder Singh Dhillon followed the tradition of naming a successor during his lifetime. Dhillon was appointed as the head of the Dera in 1990 by his predecessor, Baba Charan Singh.
Jasdeep Singh Gill’s father, Sukhdev Singh Gill, retired as a Colonel from the Indian Army and has lived at the Beas establishment with his family for more than 30 years.
According to an official source from Dera Beas, Jasdeep Singh Gill has been regularly visiting the Beas establishment and doing service (Sewa) for over 30 years.

On 2 September 2024, RSSB secretary, Devender Kumar Sikri, announced in an official statement that Jasdeep Singh Gill would succeed Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon as the Sant Satguru and would have the authority to give initiation (Naam).
He would become the 7th Guru of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Sect.
On 2 September 2024, according to the official letter issued by the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon requested that Jasdeep Singh Gill be given the same love and support from the community (Sangat) that he received after his predecessor, Huzur Maharaj Ji, Baba Charan Singh.
