Some Lesser Known Facts About Jake Fraser-McGurk
Jake Fraser-McGurk grew up in Mont Albert, an inner-eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria.
His mother was a netball player, and his father was a semi-professional tennis player.
He has been athletic since childhood.
At the age of 7, he earned a yellow belt in Karate. In 2010, he got his purple belt, and in 2012, he earned a black belt in Karate.

At 9, he started playing junior cricket at Boroondara Cricket Club. He played every year in Boroondara’s A teams, from Under 12A’s in the 2011/12 season to Under 16A’s in season 2017/18 over 7 seasons.
In his early junior career, he also played representative cricket for the Eastern Cricket Association (ECA) and the Inner East Emus.
In 2013, Fraser-McGurk represented Victoria’s under-12 team at the School Sport Australia national championships for the first time. He was batter-keeper and opening bowler Victoria. He also represented Victoria in the following season. Victoria won gold in both seasons.
In 2014, his side won the Ricky Ponting Shield.

He also played football for Hawthorn Citizens Junior Football Club. He scored 46 goals in the 2014 season.
In 2019, he gave an impressive performance at the Toyota Futures League for the Victoria Second XI. He scored 211 runs at an average of 52.75.
Fraser-McGurk started attending the industry-based learning facility SEDA College to juggle his schooling and cricket commitments.
On 12 – 15 November 2019, Fraser-McGurk made his first-class debut for Victoria against Queensland at Melbourne Cricket Ground in the 2019–20 Sheffield Shield season. He scored a fifty on his first-class debut.

On 17 November 2019, Fraser-McGurk made his List A debut for Victoria against NSW at Melbourne Cricket Ground in the 2019–20 Marsh One-Day Cup. He scored a fifty on his List A debut.
In December 2019, he was named to Australia’s squad for the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was scratched by a monkey during a team trip to a nature reserve due to which he had to leave the tournament early.
On 12 December 2020, Fraser-McGurk made his T20 debut for Melbourne Renegades against Scorchers at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, in the 2020–21 Big Bash League season.

Fraser-McGurk moved to South Australia ahead of the 2022-23 season.
On 8 October 2023, he scored the fastest List-A century (off 29 balls). The previous record was of AB De Villiers, who scored a List A century of 31 balls.
He enjoys alcoholic beverages occasionally.
On 29 December 2023, he scored 70 runs off 37 for Melbourne Renegades against Adelaide Strikers and became Player of the Match during the 2023–24 Big Bash League season.
Thereafter, he was signed for Dubai Capitals for the ILT20.
He went unsold in the IPL auction but was signed by Delhi Capitals in March 2024 as a replacement for injured Lungi Ngidi at his base price of Rs 50 lakh.
He scored a half-century on his IPL debut, 55 from 35 balls.
