In 2013, Gia asked him to review the script of the film Palo Alto which was an adaptation of James Franco’s book. She wanted his advice on the dialogues of the script and whether it was apt for today’s generation of kids. While he was reading the dialogue, she felt that he could be a part of the film. So, she asked him to audition for a role in the film. Later, Jack’s real-life father also played a small role in the film. Initially, Jack was not confident as he did not have any professional training or experience in acting.
