  • Indu Jain was a well-known Indian entrepreneur and social activist.

  • In 1983, she worked as the founder president of the FICCI Ladies Organization.

  • In 1999, she was appointed as the chairperson of the Bharatiya Jnanpith Trust which was founded by her father-in-law, Sahu Shanti Prasad Jain, in 994. The trust was established to promote literature in Indian languages.

  • She founded ā€˜Times Foundation’ trust in 2002 to support various community services, operate a research foundation, and manage relief funds.

  • In 2003, she helped in starting ā€˜Oneness Forum’ to promote unity in the world.

  • She then worked as the chairperson of one of the largest media groups in India ā€˜Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd’ also known as the Times Group.

  • As per various media sources, she had a deep knowledge of many ancient scriptures.

  • Indu used to follow the spiritual gurus Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev .

  • She addressed the United Nations at the Millenium World Peace Summit in 2000.

  • Her last wish was to donate her organs, but due to COVID-19 condition, she could not do so.

  • She took her last breath on 13 May 2021. On her demise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his condolences. He tweeted,
