| Controversy | On 16 April 2023, in the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, Hrithik and Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Nitish Rana were seen arguing with each other in the first innings. The incident took place in the ninth over of the match when Hrthik said something to Rana and Rana stopped in his tracks to turn around and say something back to him. Hrithik took Rana's wicket after fielder Ramandeep Singh caught the ball. When the ball was caught, Hrithik turned to Rana and said a few words after which Rana turned back to respond. As soon as the fight started, Mumbai Indians' skipper Suryakumar Yadav and the senior player in the game, Piyush Chawla , stepped in to stop the argument. After the controversy, the MI and KKR players were punished for breaching IPL's Code of Conduct in match No.22 of the cash-rich league. Suryakumar Yadav was fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct as well. Suryakumar was fined by the IPL for maintaining a slow over rate in Mumbai's home game against the players. Suryakumar was fined Rs.12 lakh under the IPLâs Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences. Rana was fined 25 per cent of his match fee because he breached the IPL Code of Conduct during his side's match against MI at the Wankhede Stadium. He admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.21 of the IPLâs Code of Conduct. Hrithik was also punished following his heated exchange with Rana. Hrithik Shokeen is an Indian cricketer who is known for being in an argument with Kolkata Knight Ridersâ captain Nitish Rana in the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians in 2023.
He had a passion to play cricket since childhood. He used to play cricket even when he was injured and practised for four hours a day.
According to his father, Hrithik was always an active student and he never used to sit in his seat in school. His teachers advised his parents that his energy should be used for productive things, so he decided to join an academy so that he could start playing cricket. His father said that Hrithik was so dedicated that he stopped attending birthday parties and weddings.
When he used to play in the Under-10 team, his coach said that he was not tall enough to tell if it was LBW or not.

In a U-14 match, he scored 263 runs off 62 balls in a club match which led to his selection in the Under-16 team of Delhi.
He took five wickets in Vijay Hazareâs trial but still, he was not selected for the Indian squad.
In an interview, his father said that when Hrithik stays in Delhi, he practices with him at 4 in the morning. His father bowls for him and he practices (tippe). His father turns on the torch of his phone so that he could practice.
In 2015, he won the 2nd Shanti Bhawan Under 14 Cricket Tournament.

In 2016, he took 5 wickets on 35 runs for Modern School Barakhamba Road and defeated TYCA by 20 runs in Friendship Cup Tournament at Modern School Barakhamba Road.
In 2017, he smashed 236 runs for Mukesh Dhawan Academy in the Triangular Series match against West Delhi Dwarka.
In February 2019, he won the âMan of the Matchâ in the India U19 and South Africa U19 in the Youth Test Series.

On 14 November 2019, he made his List A debut for India U23 against Nepal in the Emerging Teams Cup.
In February 2022, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament. On 21 April 2022, he made his Twenty20 debut for the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 IPL.
As of 2022, he has played for his state team in eight List A games for Indiaâs Emerging and U-23 teams in which he has taken eight wickets at an economy of 4.92 with the best bowling figures of 2/21.

In an interview, Hrithik said that his mother used to take him to the practice ground on her scooty. When he was young, his mother told him to have fun while playing cricket which helped him maintain an attachment to cricket.
