Controversy Forgery Accusations: In 2018, Hina Rabbani Khar and her family, comprising her father Ghulam Noor Rabbani Khar, mother Sumaira Abdullah (also known as Sumaira Rabbani Khar), brother Malik Raza Rabbani, and four sisters, were accused of forgery.   • Hina Rabbani Khar is a Pakistani stateswoman. She was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2011, becoming Pakistan’s youngest and first woman to hold the position of foreign minister.

  • She was born into a conservative Muslim feudal political family in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan.

  • After earning a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the United States, Hina Rabbani Khar returned to Pakistan in 2002. Upon her arrival, she found that her father was ineligible to contest the upcoming general election due to President Pervez Musharraf ā€˜s condition requiring candidates to hold a university degree. At her father’s request, Khar stepped up and took his place in the 2002 general elections, marking the beginning of her political career.

  • After being appointed as the Minister of State for Finance and Economic Affairs on 24 March 2008, she presented the federal budget in the Parliament of Pakistan on 13 June 2009, becoming the first female politician in the country to do so.

In November 2012, during a brief visit to Bangladesh, Khar discussed the post-independence issues between the two countries with the Bangladeshi Foreign Minister. As a significant member of the Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party from 2008 to 2013, Khar played an essential role in Pakistani politics, earning her a high-profile status and recognition as one of the most notable women in Pakistani politics. On 19 April 2022, Khar was reappointed as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
