Hemant Birje is a veteran Indian actor and a politician too.
His good looks and attractive physique helped him in winning Mr India contest in 1982.
Before starting his career as an actor, he used to work as a security guard officer.
The director of the Bollywood film, âAdventures of Tarzanâ (1985), B Subhash wanted to cast some A-list actor in this film, but when he saw Hemant in security guard officerâs uniform, he instantly decided to cast Hemant as the Tarzan. check sources Free Press Journal
He has acted in many Hindi films, like âTahkhanaâ (1986), âVeeranaâ (1988), âCommandoâ (1988), âKabrastanâ (1988), âMaar Dhaadâ (1988), âSindoor Aur Bandookâ (1989), âChandaalâ (1998), âKaun Kare Kurbanieâ (1991), and âGarv: Pride and Honourâ (2005).
It is said that he was probably the first Indian male actor who did a few intimate scenes on screen in the era of the â80s.
Reportedly, he used to be shy during the initial three months of his training for his character Tarzan in the Bollywood film, âAdventures of Tarzanâ (1985).
Despite being popular after his debut film, he failed to get good work in Bollywood and worked in a few B-grade films.
