Her father was Turkish, and her mother was an Anglo-Indian Christian.
According to Stardust magazine, in August 1987, Helena Luke and Indian actor Vijayendra met at a party. After that, they went to Vijayendra’s home, where he, fully drunk, attacked her with a razor blade, leaving deep cuts.
Vijayendra denied this incident, claiming he only met her once at a party where she was drunk and misbehaved, making advances toward him.

During her college days, Helena Luke was in a relationship with Javed Khan, who later introduced her to Mithun Chakraborty .
She performed in various Gujarati plays for nine years but did not act in Gujarati films due to a lack of good roles.
Helena Luke learned to speak and read Gujarati only for her stage plays.

Three years after her divorce from Mithun Chakraborty , she stated in a media interview that she would never have a relationship with Mithun again, no matter how successful or wealthy he becomes. She had not asked for alimony and considered the relationship a nightmare. She wanted Mithun to stop mentioning her.
In the same interview, she disclosed that on her first birthday after their wedding, Mithun was out of town. He did not give her any gifts and not even call her to wish. Her friends took her out for dinner.

She shared that Mithun had everything in life since childhood, but she felt that she got nothing from their marriage. She would wait alone at home for hours and only got to see Mithun Chakraborty for about four hours a day.
This loneliness and disappointment were painful for her. Helena Luke added that she believed Mithun when he said that he loved her but later realized that he only loved himself.
She described Mithun as a very immature person.
Helena Luke said that she tried hard to win his heart but could not change his suspicious nature.

In the film Mard, which was directed by Manmohan Desai, Helena Luke played the role of Lady Helen, a British queen who saved Azad Singh (Dara Singh ) and his son Raju/Mard Tangewala (Amitabh Bachchan ).
In this film, Amitabh’s dialogue to her character, ‘Aaj pata chala, sab goron ka dil kaala nahi hota madam,’ became very popular.

Reportedly, Helena had been unwell for a long time. She stopped taking medication in her final days, which led to her passing.
