Controversies • Allegations of Assault and Intimidation: In 2022, Harish Dwivedi and his two brothers Subhash Dubey and Bagish Dubey were booked under Sections 323, 324, 504, and 506 of the IPC in connection with a 2019 case. Allegedly, the case of assault and threat to life was registered against Dwivedi during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Thereafter, the MP-MLA Court issued attachment warrants under Section 82 of CrPC against Dwivedi and his brothers. Although the court had issued warrants on 22 July, 10 August, and 22 September 2022, asking for their presence in court, they did not appear on all three dates. • Crushing a Class 2 Student to Death: In 2022, an FIR was lodged against Harish Dwivedi at the City Kotwali police station after a boy named Abhishek Rajbhar, studying in Class 2, was hit by Dwivedi's SUV near the Hardiya petrol pump in Basti district. The boy died due to the accident. The FIR was based on a complaint by the victim’s father, Shatrughan Rajbhar. The case was filed under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Although Basti superintendent of police Ashish Srivastava assured that the probe was underway, Shatrughan Rajbhar claimed that the police weren't taking any action against Dwivedi or the driver despite the clearly visible CCTV footage featuring the MP and his SUV. check sources
