Some Lesser Known Facts About Hanuman Beniwal
His father, Ramdev Chaudhary, was a three-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mundwa (Nagaur) Assembly in Rajasthan.
Hanuman Beniwal became the President of Rajasthan College in 1994 and in 1995. In 1996, he was elected as the President of Rajasthan Law College; in 1997, he was elected as the President of Rajasthan University. In 2003, Hanuman Beniwal contested the assembly elections as an independent candidate from the Mundwa constituency in Rajasthan but lost by 2,000 votes.

After becoming the President of Rajasthan University, Hanuman Beniwal led a protest and was arrested, all to ensure that rural students who wanted to attend school would receive an additional 5% in marks.
Hanuman Beniwal is a farming leader in Nagaur. In 2008, he contested the assembly elections from the Khinvsar constituency on the ticket of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He defeated his rival, Durg Singh, from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by 24,443 votes.
Beniwal was suspended from the BJP in 2011 as he accused some BJP leaders Vasundhara Raje and Rajendra Rathore of corruption in Rajasthan during an event at Maharani Girls College in Rajasthan. He said that Raje was once involved in corruption, and she challenged then Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to take action on the same.

After his suspension from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2011, he arranged five big āKisan Hunkar Maha Ralliesā in Nagaur, Barmer, Bikaner, Sikar, and Jaipur districts of Rajasthan. In 2013, he contested the assembly elections from the same constituency as an Independent candidate and defeated his BJP competitor by 23,020 votes.
In 2015, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) held a protest at Rajasthan University. This protest happened a day after the police charged a group of students who were protesting against an attack on Beniwal. Reportedly, these students were peacefully organizing a march, but the police started acting aggressively. This caused injuries to many NSUI students. During the lathi charge, the NSUI office was also searched by the police. According to some media reports, about 500 students came together for a protest called āKisaan Yuva Aakrosh Rallyā as they were upset about the reported attack on Beniwal. The situation became violent when the police tried to control the students on the campus. The students then threw stones, and the police had to use sticks to scatter them. This resulted in damage and confusion, with 30 students and 18 policemen getting hurt.

On 29 October 2018, he formed his own political group called Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) with an election symbol of āBottleā in Jaipur. In 2018, he won the MLA seat from the Khinvsar constituency for the third time as a candidate of his own party, RLP, after defeating his Indian National Congress candidate, Savai Singh Choudhary, by 66148 votes. In May 2019, he became a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Rajasthanās Nagaur constituency after RLP joined hands with BJP in Rajasthan.

Before joining hands with the BJP, Hanuman Beniwal expressed his desire to contest for all 25 seats in Rajasthan during the 2019 elections. According to some media reports, the RLP was exploring potential alliances with other parties except Congress and BJP. The party was in talks with the Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and CPI(M). However, this coalition did not form, and Beniwal ultimately aligned with the BJP.
