Meet has been interested in sports since childhood. During his school days, he played various sports, served as the sports captain, and participated in various competitions.
While studying at the Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering & Technology in Punjab, he began preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
During this time, he joined Anna Hazare ‘s 2011 Indian Anti-Corruption Movement and later became one of the founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
At the age of 27, he served as the vice president of the AAP youth wing and was the youngest candidate on the party’s third list.

While serving as the Minister of Sports and Youth Services, Meet played a key role in launching the event ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’ in 2022. It was launched to enhance sports development in Punjab; the first event took place at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Jalandhar on 29 August.
