Some Lesser Known Facts About Gurkeerat Singh Mann
Though Gurkeerat hails from Muktsar, Punjab; his family moved to Mohali, Punjab in 1995.
He started playing cricket when he was just 10 years old.
In 2011, he got selected in the âPunjabâ cricket team and played his first T20 match against âHaryanaâ in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at Rohtak, Haryana.
In 2014, he got an opportunity to play for âIndia Aâ and in one of the matches against âBangladesh Aâ, he scored 65 runs and also picked 5 wickets by giving just 29 runs.
In the â2015-16 Ranji Trophyâ tournament, he scored double-century for âPunjabâ against âRailways.â He also picked 9 wickets for âPunjabâ against âAndhra.â
âKings XI Punjabâ bought him several times in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 for the âIndian Premier Leagueâ (IPL) auction.
He is also known for his fielding and in IPL 2013, he took an amazing catch of Pune Warriors Indiaâs Ross Taylor near the boundary rope for which he received the award for the âBest Catch of the Seasonâ and also received Rs. 10 lakhs.
In 2016, he got selected in the âIndiaâ cricket team and made his ODI debut against âAustraliaâ at Melbourne, Australia.
In 2018, âDelhi Daredevilsâ bought him for Rs. 75 lakh for the â2018 IPLâ auction.
He is an occasional wicket-keeper.
