Gurdeep Sangwan is an Indian kabaddi player and civil servant. He plays as an all-rounder for the UP Yoddhas team in the Pro Kabaddi League.
He spent his childhood in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana.

Gurdeep comes from a family of kabaddi players. His father, Sanjay Kumar, is a kabaddi coach; he trained players from the Border Security Force (BSF). Gurdeep’s uncle Sukhvir Singh Sangwan is a former member of the Indian National Kabaddi Team. Growing up, Gurdeep, alongside his brother Nitesh Kumar, played kabaddi under the mentorship of their father. The brothers witnessed their uncle Sukhvir Singh Sangwan winning the prestigious gold medal in Kabaddi at the 2006 Asian Games, inspiring them to pursue a sports career.
His brother, Nitesh Kumar, is an accomplished kabaddi player who represents UP Yoddha in the Pro Kabaddi League. During season 6, Nitesh achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first player in the league’s history to collect 100 tackle points in a single campaign. Additionally, Nitesh was also part of the Indian team that won the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games.
In 2022, UP Yoddhas bought Gurdeep Sangwan for 10 lakhs for the Pro Kabaddi Season 9.
On 31 October 2022, he gave a notable performance by securing six tackle points in a match against Telugu Titans. He received the title of Ace Defender of the Match and received a prize of Rs. 25,000 for the match.

In the 10th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2023, UP Yoddhas once more bought him for a sum of 20 lakhs.

Besides being a kabaddi athlete, he also serves as a civil servant within the income tax department.
In his free time, he enjoys watching films and socializing with his friends.
In an interview, he revealed that his favourite web series was Money Heist.
During an interview, he expressed that if he hadn’t pursued a career as a kabaddi player, he would have opted for a career as a civil servant.
