Some Lesser Known Facts About Gopal Rai
Since childhood, he was inclined towards acting. While he was studying in school and college, he participated in various acting competitions.
While he was in class 6, he participated in a singing competition for the first time in a school program on 15th August. Gradually, he started developing an interest in singing.
He did his training in singing under the Bhojpuri singer and writer Guru Parasram Kesari.
For the first time, he performed in public in the Vishwakarma Puja program held in his village.
While he was studying in class 10, he sang for a show in Gorkhpur Akashwani. He worked there for around 5 years.
He got married at the age of 16. He decided to make his career in singing after listening to the songs of the singer Mohammad Kalim.
In 1997, he released the song “Humke Odhave Chadariya” composed by Kabir Das from T-Series Music company.
During his graduation days, he participated in the Javelin Throw and finished in first position. He also participated in the 100-meter race competition.
He has been organising Vishal Gadha Mahotsav for the last 21 years in which politicians, singers, producers, writers, and actors of Bhojpuri participate.
Gopal Rai is the treasurer of “Akhil Bhartiya Bhojpuri Sammelan.”
He has started his YouTube channel on which he uploads his songs.
