Gokul Ganesan grew up in an orthodox Tamilian family.

After completing his graduation, he started working at a fashion accessory startup called Joker and Witch.
He then decided to make his career as a model. However, initially, his parents were not very supportive of his this decision.
He then started participating in various beauty pageants. In 2021, he won the Mr OMG Face of the Year pageant.

He won the 18th Rubaru Mister India competition at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park, Alwarpet, Chennai in 2022.
